ABOUT
SUZUKI VIOLIN PROGRAMS |
| Over the past 25 years, the Suzuki Violin Method has gone
from marginal acceptance to become the dominant and preferred method for classical violin training. |
 |
The tremendous interest in Suzuki Violin programs has been
fueled by the much-publicized research into the connection between classical
music training and its effect on cognition and general childhood development.
Along with the so-called, "Mozart Effect," the recent portrayal of a Suzuki Violin program in the feature film, "Music from the Heart," has also brought new awareness of the value
that classical music Suzuki Violin programs can bring to children.
Suzuki Violin study has proven to be an ideal classroom
activity, enabling students at every grade level to receive valuable musical
experience. More and more schools are looking to Suzuki Violin programs as a
program of choice.
Several elements are largely responsible for
the popularity and success of Suzuki Violin programs:
- Suzuki Violin pedagogy is remarkably effective. Suzuki
developed ingenious solutions for acquiring required highly developed skills
needed for achieving musical excellence.
- Suzuki methodology utilizes unique class
management techniques, designed to ensure a productive classroom experience.
- Maximum participation is enabled by using
Suzuki Violin Method core repertory and classroom techniques. Suzuki Violin
programs operate optimally in group instruction modes, and Suzuki Violin
performances can easily involve many students.
- Even the youngest children are able to
begin study by using scaled-down violins that are readily available at a
relatively low cost.
